
The United States Air Force is to continue working with ATC training and simulation provider Adacel on its ATC tower simulation system for up to another five years.
The US$27 million deal announced last month specifies a base year period of performance and the option for another four years after for Adacel to provide the US Air Force’s Tower Simulator System (TSS) program.
Adacel has been the prime contractor for the USAF TSS Contractor Logistics Support and Training System Support Center contract for over 20 years since it was originally awarded in 2002, with the first system installed that year at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
Adacel supports TSS units across the USAF, Air Force Reserve Command, and Air National Guard at both Contiguous United States and Outside the Continental United States locations.
The TSS program’s scope of work for Adacel includes Program Management, TSS System Performance of minimum operational Availably Rate, TSS Maintenance Support, TSSC operations, TSS Technical Support, System Relocations, TSS Site Activation and Deployment activities, Visual Database (VDB) and model development and modifications, and software enhancements.
