The Umiles Group launches training and light show businesses in Chile

Umiles Group is expanding into Chile as a gateway to the Latin American market with its Drone Light Show business and its Commercial Services division, which works with unmanned aerial vehicles in the industrial sector.

The Commercial Services business line operates in the industrial sector, facilitating drones for use in large-scale infrastructure inspections in fields such as renewable energy, forests, mines and highways.

The Drone Light Show designs and performs choreographies with UAVs featuring up to 200 drones as an alternative to traditional fireworks displays. The company has more than 30 shows booked for this year for private companies and local administrations.

Raúl Cortijo, chief operating officer at Umiles UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) said, “The deployment of various UMILES UAV services in Chile is a key milestone in the company's globalization strategy, offering a gateway into the Latin American market. Further to the successful launch of UMILES University in the country to train the drone pilots of the future, we will now be delivering customized drone shows and drones for the inspection and improvement of infrastructure, clearly evidencing the versatility of the business in which UMILES Group operates.”

Earlier this year Umiles began delivering specialist training in UAVs in Chile, in response to growing demand for pilots. The Umiles University offers professional programs to meet the needs of industries in Chile, including the mining, winegrowing, infrastructure, transport, logistics, audiovisual, energy, agriculture and security sectors.

The Umiles Group was founded in 2016 and has been owned by Grupo Ibérica since 2020. As well as the drone business it operates an executive aviation company 4uJet and a business that operates organ transport services for the ONT (National Transplant Organization) in Spain.
