
Portuguese air navigation service provider NAV Portugal is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
NAV Portugal serves two flight information regions - Lisbon and Santa Maria and has played an important role in the aviation sector since its foundation, placing safety and innovation as fundamental pillars of its mission.
Today, the company works to guarantee a safe airspace for millions of aircraft, passengers and crews and has reached the milestone of 14 million controlled flights.
At the end of 1998 NAV Portugal controlled 357,619 flights in a year. By the end of 2023, it had managed 852,746, representing more than a doubling in the number of flights controlled in its two flight information regions.
NAV Portugal has invested in R&D, implementing solutions to improve the efficiency of ATC, including the new TOPSKY system.
