Indra buys ATC simulator firm Micro Nav and training company Global ATS

Indra pursues international expansion plan with UK acquisitions

Indra has acquired UK-based companies Micro Nav and Global ATS, which produce simulators and provider training courses for the ATC sector respectively.

Aviation simulator and training company Quadrant bought Micro Nav in 2012 and Global ATS in 2019.  The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

The deal marks Spanish company Indra’s entrance into the ATM training segment in the UK. strengthens its position in the Middle East, as Micro Nav earns more than 50% of its sales in this region.

Micro Nav provides civilian and military air traffic controller training solutions. Its BEST (Beginning to End Simulation Training) system can be tailored to clients' needs, offering combined tower and radar training, realistic 3D scenarios, and immersive experiences. 

Global ATS is the a controller training services company, providing services to many of the UK’s general aviation, regional and international airports. It also has a growing international presence in the Middle East, Asia and the CIS regions.

The acquisition of Micro Nav and Global ATS follow the purchase of UK-based air traffic radio supplier ParkAir last year.
