Germany’s DFS to supply staff to Dubai ANSP dans

DFS Aviation Services is to supply functional and administrative personnel to Dubai’s air navigation service provider dans.

The contract, which was signed this week, starts in the new year and will run until 2030.

DFS Aviation Services (DAS) is a subsidiary of German ANSP Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS). Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) provides air navigation services for Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

DFS and dans have worked together since 2016, with dans using DFS’ PHOENIX air traffic management system to assist tower and air navigation controllers in managing the flow of air traffic within Dubai’s airspace and the Northern Emirates.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group and chairman of Dubai Air Navigation Services said: "By deploying high quality and professional personnel, dans will always be able to further enhance its services and adopt global best practices, which will contribute to strengthening the aviation ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates.”
